I was born in Switzerland in 1966 and live in the Zurich Oberland. I discovered my interest in photography in my youth. At school I attended a course in black-and-white laboratory technology. It was magical to see an image slowly appearing on a white sheet of paper.
In the meantime a lot has changed technically. Magic is still there, even if it has shifted to other fields.
Personally, I don't believe that photography is a way of "expressing oneself". Especially when it comes to landscape photography. One part is very simple, namely what we see with our eyes. Much more important for me is to make the invisible visible. That's why photography for me has a lot to do with going beyond what we see.
I photograph almost exclusively landscapes in black and white and only out of passion.
